Overview

The quietest twenty minutes, and the reason everything else heals faster.

LED is the least dramatic thing on our menu and one of the most useful. It works on cellular behavior rather than on structure: specific wavelengths are absorbed by specific targets, and the skin responds by reducing bacterial load, calming inflammation, and repairing faster than it otherwise would.

That makes it valuable in two quite different ways. As a treatment in its own right it addresses active acne across a series — blue light for the bacteria, red for the inflammation around it — and it does so without stripping the barrier the way aggressive topicals can.

Its more important role, though, is as a finish. We end microneedling, GLACE, GLO2, peels and most injectable appointments with LED, because the redness window shortens noticeably and patients recover faster. It is the least glamorous line on the treatment note and one of the reasons results look clean.

Wavelengths

Three lights, three jobs.

01

Blue

Reduces the bacteria involved in inflammatory acne. Works best alongside extractions.

02

Red

Calms inflammation and supports collagen. The wavelength that shortens post-treatment redness.

03

Infrared

Penetrates deepest to accelerate cellular repair and ease discomfort.

Safe, and effective.

LED finishes most of our treatments as a matter of protocol rather than as a line item you have to think about. It is simply how we would want our own skin handled.

Questions

Frequently asked.

What does LED light therapy actually do?

{{ s0 }}

Different wavelengths do different jobs. Blue light reduces acne-causing bacteria. Red light calms inflammation and supports collagen. Near-infrared penetrates deepest to accelerate cellular repair. Celluma is FDA-cleared for acne, wrinkles and pain.

Is LED worth having on its own?

{{ s1 }}

As a standalone it is a gentle, cumulative treatment — useful for acne and inflammation across a series of two to three sessions a week. Its greatest value, though, is as a finish to another treatment, where it visibly shortens redness and speeds healing.

Does it hurt, and is there downtime?

{{ s2 }}

Neither. It is twenty minutes of warm light with your eyes covered. Most patients fall asleep. There is no downtime of any kind and it is safe on all skin tones, year-round.

Can LED help acne?

{{ s3 }}

Yes — blue light meaningfully reduces the bacteria involved in inflammatory acne, and red light calms the surrounding inflammation. It works best combined with extractions and a proper home protocol rather than alone.

How often should I have LED?

{{ s4 }}

For an active concern such as acne, two to three sessions a week for four to six weeks. As a finish to facials, microneedling or injectables, once per appointment is plenty.
